NATIONAL PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP AWARENESS WEEK

31 May – 6 June

 

Focusing on the importance of patient engagement, communication and involvement in healthcare decision making.

 

What do PPGs do?

 

  • Providing constructive feedback and support to help the practice improve its services
  • Offering insights into how services are experienced by patients, helping practices become more responsive and patient centred
  • Promoting health education and encourage patients to take more responsibility for their own health
  • Helping to gather feedback through surveys and discussions to understand patient needs and satisfaction
  • Holding events or campaigns on topics like Mental Health awareness, Healthy Living, Basic Life Support Training, Diabetes, Dementia awareness and Digital upskilling (NHS App)
  • Contributing to planning and implementing changes in the practice, such as new appointment systems or digital services
  • Helping to ensure clear communication between the practice and patients, including newsletters, websites, and noticeboards
  • Raising funds for practice equipment or patient amenities
  • Working with the wider community, PPGs within your Primary Care Network and PPG networks
