The roll out of Covid vaccines locally is a priority for all our local surgeries and we are working with Sussex Community Foundation Trust to ensure that a Covid Vaccination Centre is up and running in our area over the next few weeks. There have been significant challenges to both finding and resourcing a suitable site in our rural setting which provides all the necessary facilities, staffing and accessibility requirements that we need for this project. A site has been designated and Sussex Community Foundation Trust are working at pace to get the site operational as soon as possible. Once a date for opening the site has been confirmed by them, and we can confirm vaccine delivery to that site, we will be able to provide further details. This model will allow us to maintain essential primary care services in Rother as well as deliver the vaccine with maximum efficiency in a sustainable way.
The Government has advised that the first vaccines will be given to patients aged 80yrs old and over, care home patients, care home staff and frontline workers. Please do not contact your surgery at this stage as they cannot book appointments or provide you with any more information. You will be contacted when it is your turn to have the vaccine.
